Busta Rhymes took the stage at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans last week, and although some of the crowd enjoyed his set, the rapper wasn't fond of attendees using their phones to video him while performing.
The musician became frustrated when he saw some of the attendees sitting down and scrolling through their phones while he was singing his biggest hits.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the rapper called out fans who were using phones, saying, "Ayo f*** them camera phones, too. Let's get back to interacting like humans."

He later explained that he's not "from that era" and gadgets don't "control the soul" before adding, " F*** your phone!"
Busta Rhymes didn't stop there as he continued calling them out one by one, saying, "I will point every last one of y'all out until y'all asses is up!"
He further noted that he would not tolerate any "b******* energy" in the crowd because it was his first time performing in New Orleans, and it was the 30th anniversary of the annual event, saying, "Make me feel like we home!"
This wasn't the first time Busta Rhymes called out audience members for using their phones, as he had also done the same thing when he performed in the Hollywood Hills.
During the "High Dining" event in April 2024, the musician felt that the crowd wasn't giving him the energy he wanted during his "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See " performance.
The 2024 Essence Festival was a success, as some of the biggest names in the music industry delivered memorable performances, such as SWV, The Roots, Charlie Wilson, Birdman, Lil Wayne, and others like Ayra Starr, Victoria Monét, D-Nice, and many more.
Headliners for the New Orleans-based event were Janet Jackson and Usher, who performed his entire Confessions album to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Fans should take notes from Busta Rhymes' recent call out as he is touring with Missy Elliott, Ciara, and Timbaland.
The international tour, billed as Out of This World-The Missy Elliott Experience 2024, kicked off in Vancouver earlier this month and will continue to visit major cities like Tampa, Seattle, Baltimore, Las Vegas, and many more.
The final show will be at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, on August 22, 2024. More information about their concert series is available on Ticketmaster.
