It seems like Kanye West is not retiring for good.

Fans wasted no time sharing their harsh reactions, expressing their disbelief at the controversial rapper retiring due to a lack of direction.

"He said that last time," X user @jacoyia_s said.

@deskamukapa wrote, No he's not... He's looking for attention."

@StillSumAsshole said, "Good fuck off Kanye. He's been washed up for years. Donda sucked just admit it."

@LFCUNLOCKED suggested, "Washed & ruining his own legacy."

@Kevster_l0 suggested, "honestly a good thing. he hasn't put out a good solo album since tlop, and hasn't had a good album overall since ksg. he's just ruining his legacy with trash albums at this point, but even if it's not goodbye (with it probably isn't with the ft), whatever."

Kanye West's Blink-and-You-Missed-It Retirement: Was the Announcement a Publicity Stunt for Upcoming Music?

This comes after rapper Rich the Kid shared a screenshot capturing a conversation with his music collaborator.

The exchange revealed a surprising announcement: The first message stated, "I am retiring from professional music," and another said, "Not sure what else to do."

Rich the Kid's response said, "Retire? Why? How? The ppl NEED you the music you & Ty & we have made was the BIGGEST STAMP in culture to this date."

West has a reputation for making bold claims in the past. It's common for the 24-time GRAMMY winner to backtrack on his promises.

Interestingly, the "GIMME A SECOND" rapper swiftly removed the text message from his Instagram Story within just thirty minutes of sharing it.

Later on, it became clear that the recent proclamation was actually a strategic move to generate buzz around his upcoming album Life's a Gamble.

Rich the Kid said on X while sharing the track list, "ACTUALLY WE DROPPING FRIDAY [crying face emojis] 7/19." West is featured in the song, "Plain Jane."

Fans can also anticipate a new collaboration from West and Consequence this Friday, adding to the list of projects the renowned artist has been involved in.

Cons announced on social media, "'No Apologies'. Featuring YE. THE WAIT IS OVER. WE DID WHAT DID TO GET PAID. 07.12.24." West is featured on Cons' album Nice Doing Business With You.

Adding to the uncertainty surrounding his retirement plans, West is currently working on his next album, Vultures 2, the second installment of a trilogy of collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign.
