Taylor Swift is achieving remarkable milestones with her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The 14-time Grammy winner's album has once again claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the 12th consecutive week at the pinnacle as of July 20, as reported by Billboard.

TTPD's impressive run of twelve weeks at the top spot since its launch on April 19 sets a new personal milestone for Swift, surpassing the eleven-week reigns of her previous albums, 1989 and Fearless.

The new record has been set by the "Guilty as Sin" hitmaker, surpassing the milestone set by Whitney Houston.

The late singer's second album, Whitney, held the title for the longest-running record by a female artist to debut at number one in 1987 and remain there for 11 consecutive weeks.

The album entered the Billboard chart during the week of June 27, 1987, and, according to the outlet, maintained its position at the top for 11 weeks.

Luminate data report that during the week ending July 11, The Tortured Poets Department sold 163,000 equivalent album units across the United States. The album experienced a 43 percent increase in sales after initially claiming the number one spot on Billboard's chart on May 4, 2024.

Standing out among its peers, Swift's latest album holds a unique position with its record collection that has held the top spot on the chart for at least 12 weeks.

However, upon learning of Swift's achievements, fans on X, formerly Twitter, have mixed reactions.

According to @eternalcumslime, "Whitney didn't have to release 66 versions of the same album."

@bincoz quipped, "whitney did it with 1 version btw."

@msyonceslay said, "Desperation vs organic."

"Two legends," @corneil_ri wrote, referring to Houston and Swift.

@popiconguk added, "After releasing versions every week Whitney can't relate to this desperation."

@daisy_lower defended Swift, saying, "People in the comments be like "But Taylor had more versions!" even though that is just a straight up lie Just accept that Taylor is amazing, my god. That doesn't even mean Whitney is bad, both are incredible!"

Meanwhile, One Thing at a Time by country artist Morgan Wallen also stood out as a chart-topping album. It was number one for its first 12 weeks and racked up 19 overall weeks in the top spot from 2023 until 2024.
