Spice Girls' member Emma Bunton is involved in a tax disagreement with U.K. authorities regarding her substantial multimillion-dollar income from the girl group's reunion tour.

In 2019, fans flocked to see Spice Girls during their highly-anticipated reunion tour, which generated an impressive $78.2 million in revenue.

Over 700,000 fans eagerly secured their tickets to witness the band's concerts throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The Sun reported that Bunton was paid £3.92 million ($5 million) after gracing the stage again to deliver beloved hits alongside the Mel B, Melanie C, and Geri Halliwell.

But after the end of the reunion tour, the HM Revenue and Customs, the U.K.'s tax, payments and customs authority, delivered unexpected news that dampened Bunton's spirits.

The "Spice Up Your Life" singer believed she had fulfilled her corporation tax obligations for the comeback concerts when she paid authorities £748,014 ($965,000).

However, she was taken aback when faced with an additional tax bill of about $230,000.

According to The Sun, the government claims that she owes them a third sum as well.

In 2021, Bunton decided to dissolve her business, Monsta Touring, which was established to oversee her income from reunion performances. It is said that she was set to receive a payout exceeding $4 million after paying the second tax bill and closing the limited company.

Addressing Bunton's reported tax battle, representatives handling her company's liquidation said in a statement to The Sun, "Our understanding was that all tax had already been paid. Since March 2023, we have been in correspondence with HMRC to resolve the position. This is ongoing."

In the same year she decided to close Monsta Touring, Bunton tied the knot with her longtime partner, Jade Jones.

They had been engaged since 2011 and were already parents to two kids, 13-year-old Tate and 16-year-old Beau.

The final show showcasing all five original members of the Spice Girls took place at the 2012 London Olympics. Since then, there had been rumors that they will reunite for the 30th anniversary, but nothing is set of stone as of writing.

Bunton has a reported net worth of $30 million.
