Ben Affleck purchased a lavish new residence in the upscale Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles amid all the buzz surrounding his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.
TMZ reported that the "Gone Girl" star paid $20.5 million for his new mansion, while his Beverly Hills marital home with Lopez remains unsold.
The latest addition to Affleck's real estate portfolio is a luxurious bachelor pad featuring five spacious bedrooms with walk-in closets and six bathrooms.
The interior of the primary residence includes areas designated for breakfast and dining, a cozy family room, a study, a media room, and a powder room. There is also said to be a guest cottage in the premises.
Affleck's move was reportedly a tipping point for the "Jenny from the Block" singer. Radar Online suggested in a new report that Lopez feels disrespected by her husband's recent purchase of a new home in Los Angeles. Music Times could not independently verify this information.
Even after some time apart, during which Affleck resided in a rental property in Brentwood, Lopez maintained optimism about the possibility of reconciliation.
Due to this, the news of the "Batman v. Superman" actor acquiring a new home came as a devastating blow, with an unnamed source telling Radar that it felt like "a stab in the heart" for Lopez.
The insider further claimed that Affleck's choice to move into his own home was the "final insult."
"[Lopez] had been holding onto hope that there could be a reconciliation if they were to spend some time apart, but this is like a stab in the heart," the source claimed.

Two months have passed since Lopez and Affleck started living apart, fueling speculations that they are headed for a divorce.
Earlier this year, they officially put their marital property on the market for $68 million, a mere year after acquiring it in May 2023.
"Affleck already moved out and they'll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for," an unnamed insider revealed to In Touch Weekly.
"They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her. There's no way it could have lasted," the source claimed.
Affleck has been dedicated to his work during his stay in Brentwood, while Lopez has been enjoying her time on the opposite coast since the Fourth of July holiday.
Following a grand celebration for her 55th birthday in the Hamptons, she has now returned to New York City, leaving her husband behind.
