Justin Timberlake's driver's license was suspended on Friday during a virtual court hearing over his driving while intoxicated (DWI) arrest last month.

The judge announced the suspension of the pop star's license and criticized his attorney for making "irresponsible" comments, according to NBC News. The hearing was held in Sag Harbor, New York, just over a month after Timberlake's arrest after failing field sobriety tests.

Timberlake claimed he had consumed only "one martini" before being pulled over and pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., initially released a statement saying, "I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office."

Timberlake went viral at the time for making the comment that his arrest would "ruin the tour," predicting that it could be a "serious blow" to his ongoing "Forget Tomorrow" world tour.
