EDM News: Axwell / Ingrosso Dropping New Album in 2015, Kygo to Replace Avicii at Tomorrow World

Some news coming in this weekend from the Electronic Dance Music front, one regarding a big album to look for next year and another a big name to watch for next weekend on the festival front. Behold!

Axwell / Ingrosso Sign to Universal Music Group

Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, two of the members behind EDM super-act Swedish House Mafia, have signed with the Universal Music Group according to a statement released on Friday (reported by Dancing Astronaut). The release also detailed that the duo would drop its first LP through Def Jam Records during 2015.

It's an especially interesting revelation for fans of the pair's previous act, as Swedish House Mafia never released a studio LP during its eight year run. Music Times was present for the pair's first live performance at Governor's Ball this summer and can report that the progressive house/electro elements made popular by the trio are alive and well within the duo.

In case you're curious what Steve Angello is up to, he released his own Wild Youth album earlier during 2014 and dropped the #Decade compilation for his label Size Records as well.

Kygo Will Take Avicii's Place at Tomorrow World

Fans looking forward to Avicii at next weekend's Tomorrow World festival in Atlanta have probably already heard that the Swedish house performer has cancelled all of his remaining performances this year due to health problems. Promoters have recently announced that Norwegian jockey Kygo will be taking his place however.

Kygo's brand of house is a tad different than Avicii's, more downtempo, but the pair have been collaborators for a while and even Coldplay reached out to the Nordic producer for help remixing their tracks. Fans shouldn't have a reason to complain about the previous headliners absence.
