The House That Florida Georgia Line Built

When Florida Georgia Line played Red Rocks in Denver on last week, they could have partied like they're rock stars and then done it again the next night. Instead, they turned in early so they could be up at the crack of dawn to help build a house for a local family. Brian Kelly and Tyler Hubbard put on their hard hats and picked up their hammers and went to work with Habitat for Humanity last Thursday.

Through their Dirt Campaign, the duo has been working to raise $100,000 for the organization. In Denver, they were able to do even more. Since they had back to back shows at Red Rocks at the same time the three bedroom home was being built, the timing was perfect and the homeowner, Mon Magar, the 75 other volunteers and the organization were glad for the extra help.

Brian told CBS Denver, "If we’re going to talk about something we want to go ahead and get our hands dirty and do it, that’s kind of how we’ve always been and if we’re going to be involved in something we really want to be involved. To be out here and see the houses and see the development and see the people who are putting in the sweat equity, the homeowners, the volunteers… It’s inspiring."

Both Brian and Tyler chatted with the local ABC affiliate, 9News, sharing that they want the campaign and the single by the same name to bring awareness to homelessness and push a national movement forward to make sure that every family has somewhere to call home. Brian added, "It's incredible to see people come together for one common goal and one great thing: to come and build people houses. We had a dream of being able to give back, and this is something that's very close to us."

The condo is part of Habitat Denver's Sable Ridge which is the largest home development site Habitat has built in the area to date. Three of the 12 buildings have already been completed and nine families have already moved in. Fifty-one units are scheduled to be completed by 2016.
