Say it ain't so... it has been confirmed that those Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks break up rumors are true. News broke yesterday (Sept. 25) that the longtime, loving couple had called it quits and now it seems like the former flames have admitted that they are, in fact, done.
Sparks spoke out about the break up on her Twitter, tweeting the common inspirational phrase "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" alongside an emoji of two hearts.
And yesterday, he header image was a photo of her and Derulo singing together onstage, smiling at each other. She has since changed the image to a promotional image of herself in a bikini.
Derulo also confirmed news of the split in a new interview. While talking to Minneapolis-based radio station KDWB, the "Wiggle" singer hesitantly announced that he and Sparks had called it quits.
"Everything is cool man," Derulo said. "It's not a bad situation; it's not one of those kinds of things."
Derulo and Sparks broke up after nearly three years of dating. The couple confirmed their relationship in January 2012, but they were first tied to each other in September 2011.
Before the break up, it seemed as though Derulo and Sparks were on the road to a marriage. On his latest album, Derulo released the song "Marry Me" about his intentions to propose to Sparks. To drive the point even farther home, she costarred in the now heartbreaking music video.
