Saturday Night Live is celebrating its 40th year on the tube, and the venerable sketch show's first offering this season didn't disappoint.
With Chris Pratt hosting, musical guest Ariana Grande made the most of her two songs. The "Problem" singer performed "Break Free" and then brought out The Weeknd to help with "Love Me Harder."
Chock full of talent and moxie, Grande was a natural. Check it:
We knew Grande would likely perform two songs of her latest, feature-heavy album My Everything. But our collabo prediction was either Iggy Azalea or Big Sean (The Weeknd wasn't a bad consolation prize).
While prepping for the show this week, Pratt got to hear Grande's rehearsal and gave it a raving review.
"In the dressing room at #SNL hearing @ArianaGrande rehearse. Man. That girl can sing!!!! Like REALLY sing. You probably already knew that" he wrote.
Following Grande's SNL premiere, Maroon 5 is set to perform on the show next weekend (Oct. 4) with comedian Sarah Silverman as the guest. Then Irish rocker Hozier will take the stage the following weekend (Oct. 11) with host Bill Hader.
