Interested in hearing Nicki Minaj's bootylicious single "Anaconda" as a bluegrass song? Postmodern Jukebox, known for their genre-switching versions of pop songs, has you covered (pun intended).
The group was apparently flooded with requests to take on The Pink Print femcee's latest hit.
"Well, a bunch of you requested this one, and after hearing Nicki Minaj's 'Anaconda,' we just knew that we had to cover it," the band explains in the YouTube video's description.
Guest banjoist Matt Bruer brings the twang with lead singer Robyn Adele Anderson, who is barefoot wearing rolled up overalls and pigtail braids, singing the originally rapped lyrics. Von Smith provides backup vocals while petting Marty the Chihuahua.
They change up the lyrics a bit, singing "Oh my gosh, look at that banjo," instead of "look at that butt."
The track has already garnered 363,489 views (at time of publishing). The group has also recently covered Ariana Grande's "Break Free," TLC's "Waterfalls," Demi Lovato's "Really Don't Care," Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass."
Minaj is set to release her "Anaconda"-featuring third studio album, The Pink Print, on Nov. 24 via YMCMB/Republic.
