Daft Punk, being mysterious as always, released a clip of their new single ‘Lose Yourself to Dance’ earlier today.
The one-minute video is a disco-inspired dance party in which the Daft Punk “robots,” Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers perform on an elevated stage inside of what looks to be a disco spaceship. They are wearing sparkling suits, playing sparking instruments and seem to be glowing. A pyramid of club-goers dressed in 70s attire dance in an hypnotic fashion, appearing to truly be losing themselves to dance.
The four musicians worked together earlier this year on "Random Access Memories" LP. This release comes after their collaboration at the MTV Video Music Awards where they presented the award for Best Female Video.
One fan even took to photoshop and created a “Daft Punk’s reaction to Miley Cyrus’ performance” image in which he added "?" and "WTF" on the two robots’ helmets. His post was retweeted 3,191 (at publishing time) and was marked favorite 1,352 times (at publishing time).
The date for the release of the full video has not yet been announced, but sticking to their way of doing things, it will mostly likely be a surprise.
