4-Year-Old Girl Brings 250 Packets of Heroin to Daycare, Passes Them Out to Children Thinking They Are Candy: Cops

Talk about scary! Imagine dropping your child off at daycare and getting a call a few hours later alerting you to the possibility that your child may have ingested heroin! That is what happened for many parents in Selbyville, Delaware, yesterday after dropping their children off at The Hickory Tree Child Care Center. Apparently, a 4-year-old girl was given a replacement backpack Monday morning after a pet ruined hers the night before, but her mother forgot to remove the drug stash from it. The girl found sealed bags of heroin inside and passed them out to several other children, thinking they were candy.

Ashley Tull, the child's mother, was eventually arrested and charged with drug possession and endangering the welfare of a child. She was later released on $6,000 bond and ordered to stay away from her 4-year-old daughter as well as her two older children. The backpack in question contained about 250 bags of heroin and children who handled the drugs were taken to the hospital and later released in good condition.

This investigation is ongoing and will likely lead to more arrests in the near future. The child care facility believes it got lucky because none of the children involved ingested any heroin.

That does not mean they are totally in the clear, as parental reaction has not really been recorded yet. They pay the center to take the best care possible of their kids, and while accidents can happen, all it will take is one zealous parent filing a civil suit to level this business.

Then again, just knowing that this happened on their premises might motivate several families to consider other options in terms of child care, don't you think? If your child was involved in yesterday's nightmare would you have dropped them off there again today? Comment below.
