The Garth Brooks Machine rolls on and it seems his tour will be heading back to the East Coast before he starts thinking about West. Brooks had us thinking he was heading toward the opposite coast when he announced that the fifth stop on his comeback tour would be in Minneapolis, far more left than any of his dates up to that point. He switched direction again on Wednesday when he announced that he and wife Trisha Yearwood would be heading to Greensboro, NC for a pair of dates. It will be Brooks' first appearance in the Tar Heel State in more than 16 years according to The Boot.
For the moment the country star only has two dates planned at Greensboro Coliseum, one November 21 and one November 22...but you all know how things have been working so far. Brooks has milked each market for as many shows as its worth before announcing a new stop on the tour, including piling up 11 shows in Chicago, seven in Atlanta and six in Jacksonville. Minneapolis, the aforementioned last stop announced, ended up just short of Chicago with ten shows of its own (and you know a few Brooks fans will be driving up from Illinois for a few more shows). Lexington, KY has been the only stop to decline the opportunity for additional shows, as Brooks has had to make do with just the two previously scheduled gigs.
Stay tuned to see where Garth will end up next.
Bigger news in Brooks-ville this week was the formal announcement of a title for his first album of new material in 13 years. Man Against Machine will drop on November 11, with plenty of time for fans to learn the new material before his Greensboro shows.
