Chelsea Handler Hated 'Real Housewives,' Tila Tequila Reality Show Interviews on 'Chelsea Lately'

Chelsea Handler's Chelsea Lately wrapped up a seven-year run on E! late this past summer, and the comedienne seems thrilled to put that era behind her. She turned up for a Sirius XM Town Hall interview with Dave Grohl Monday, Oct. 6, and was ready to dish on some of the particulars that she had to keep to herself while under contract with the network. When Grohl pressed for details on who she hated interviewing, it did not take to much for Handler to spill the details, like the Real Housewives and Tila Tequila.

"I had reality stars on all the time, and I hate reality television. Tila Tequila, is that her name? You know the girl who passed out masturbating or something? She's gross. I had to have all of these reality stars on my show at the beginning because I wasn't established. It was E! and it was cheesy. Right then, I realized I had to take the show to a different level. I had to interview the Housewives, and I hate that shit."

When it was announced that Handler was going to leave the network, there were rumors she resented having the Kardashians fill in and guest host on Chelsea Lately. Sources had said Handler was furious the network handed the reins to them in her absence because she cannot stand people who are famous for doing nothing.

Handler had to work hard and do her time on the comedy circuit to get to where she is now, and she has always had a problem with interviewing people who just seemed to appear out of nowhere on her couch and with no real talent.

Are you surprised Handler hates the Housewives franchise? It is no wonder she felt like she had to crawl out from under E! in order to promote herself. Handler's special, Uganda Be Kidding Me Live, will appear only on Netflix beginning this Friday, Oct. 10.
