In a recent interview with Shortlist, heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne had some pretty startling things to say about the Sept. 11 attacks. When discussing the time he met President Bush at the 2002 White House Correspondents Dinner (he describes Bush as "a c**t," by the way), Osbourne mentions that he happened to be in New York City on 9/11. Instead of being frightened by the attacks, however, Osbourne claims he was "excited."
"It was my kind of craziness, y'know," Osbourne says. "The day after that happened, there was f***ing nobody in New York."
"I remember standing on the steps of the hotel," he continues, "you know when you see an old cowboy film and that tumbleweed rolls past on the ground? There was newspapers just floating around on the streets. It was so f***ing weird. Everybody just backed off Manhattan because they didn't know if it was an all-out thing or what."
Just in case anyone read those comments and assumed that he supports terrorism, Osbourne then takes a bold stance against "crazy f***ers," and ISIS in particular, saying that he hopes the notorious terrorist organization "don't get going."
"I've come to the conclusion that it's in mankind to try to kill each other for one thing or another," Osbourne says. "And I think sooner or later one of these crazy f***ers is going to get a nuclear weapon or some f***ing thing, and f**k a lot of people up. That's in our nature. I hope it won't happen, but it looks like it could happen if they get it."
So it looks like the guy who sang "Electric Funeral" doesn't actually want the world to be destroyed. You can check out the entire interview right here.
