Björk has made it official that she'll be releasing a new album during 2015, Stereogum confirms, following weeks of speculation.
The announcement may have accidentally been leaked by Arca, the rumored producer of the project. The electronic music producer took to Twitter to clarify rumors that he would be handling production on the album.
"Rather than 'sole producing,'@bjork and I are coproducing music together!" he tweeted. "Just a quick correction to phrasing !! *curtsie*".
Perhaps Arca, who gathered acclaim for his work with Kanye West on Yeezus last year, didn't realize that Bjork herself hadn't confirmed the album. The Icelandic alt chanteuse took to Facebook on Thursday to confirm that yes, she will be working on a new record for an anticipated release date during 2015.
The album will be her first since 2011's Biophilia, and the live film based around that album will be taking some of the flack because of her new project. Bjork's Facebook post was less to formally announce a new album than to apologize for skipping the premiere of Biophilia Live at the London Film Festival so that she could work on the yet-untitled album instead.
"We are so sorry, but since Björk is already working on her next album (out in 2015!) she can not come to the 'Biophilia Live' premiere at the London Film Festival this week," read her post.
We have a feeling that fans won't be too bent out of shape over that decision.
