'Ghostbusters' Theme Gets Marshmallow-Scented Vinyl Reissue For 30th Anniversary

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the 1984 cult comedy, Ray Parker, Jr.'s classic Ghostbusters theme was reissued for Record Store Day in April on glow-in-the-dark vinyl. On October 21, the single will once again be re-released, but this time on 12-inch white vinyl housed in a marshmallow-scented puffy gatefold jacket in honor of the film's villain, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Rolling Stone reports.

The 12-inch, which was first unveiled at New York Comic Con, will also include Run-D.M.C.'s "Ghostbusters" rap from the film's sequel.

The limited edition Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Edition Super Deluxe vinyl comes with 12-inch by 12-inch 3D lenticular images from the film, and the inner jacket of the gatefold includes a photo collage of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man confronting the Ghostbusters in his iconic march through New York City.

The printing is limited to 3,000 with each vinyl verified with a numbered certificate of authenticity. They're also throwing in a 6-inch Stay Puft figurine.

Pre-orders are ongoing.

It was recently revealed that the Ghostbusters III film was cancelled after director Paul Feig decided to go with an all-female cast and a new origin story.

"I love the first one so much, I don't want to do anything to ruin the memory of that," Feig said of his reboot. "So it just felt like, let's just restart it because then we can have new dynamics. I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn't gone through it so it's like, oh my God what's going on?"
