Chris Brown is getting called out for comments he made on the ongoing Ebola crisis. Around 3 a.m. on October 13, the "Loyal" singer took to Twitter to reveal to his 13.7 million followers that he thinks the Ebola crisis might be a population control conspiracy.
"I don't know ... But I think this Ebola epidemic is a form of population control," he wrote. "Sh*t is getting crazy bruh."
Upon seeing this tweet, some of his million followers called him an "idiot" or "stupid" and went as far as to suggest he "should try it." Others just laughed it off and told the 25-year-old singer to "go to bed."
Shortly after seeing all of the backlash, Brown sent out another tweet saying he should probably keep his mouth shut from now on.
"Let me shut my black ass up!" he wrote.
Brown has not yet deleted the tweets (at time of publishing), but it's probably safe to assume he'll keep his thoughts on the epidemic to himself.
It was revealed by the World Health Organization that the Ebola virus has killed more than 4,000 people, most of whom live in Liberia. Some 41 UN staffers in Liberia are now being closely observed.
One person in the United States, Thomas Eric Duncan, died from the disease. As of Saturday, New York's JFK Airport began screening passengers arriving from Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone, where the disease is rampant.
The second case of Ebola in the United States has been diagnosed in a nurse who had been wearing protective gear. The news heightened fears of heath care workers across the country, who are now concerned about handling Ebola cases.
