Prince Will Appear on 'Saturday Night Live' as Musical Guest on Nov. 1 with Host Chris Rock

On his Facebook account, Prince announced he will be the musical guest on the Nov. 1 episode of Saturday Night Live, which will be hosted by comedian Chris Rock. Included in the post is a photo of Prince with his band 3rdeyegirl alongside a photo of Rock dressed as the legendary musician — which is not the first time he has used an image of a comedian dressed like him. You can check out the Facebook post below:

Just in case you thought this Facebook announcement was Prince simply being weird — just like he was during his recent Facebook Q&A — his appearance has been confirmed through the Saturday Night Live Twitter. You can check out the tweet here:

This will be Prince's third appearance on Saturday Night Live, his first since 2006. His first appearance was all the way back in 1981, when he performed the Dirty Mind cut "Partyup."

Since Prince recently released two new albums on the same day — the solo effort Art Official Age and the 3rdeyegirl debut PLECTRUMELECTRUM — it is not clear which album he will be performing from, or if he will be performing songs from both albums.

Since this is Prince, though, he could just as easily perform songs that do not appear on either album because he tends to do whatever he wants.
