Bobby Shmurda does not understand how the touring circuit works, according to his mother.
The man who brought us "Hot N***a" unleashed an Instagram tirade this week (later taken down) that insinuated he would simply cease to do shows if he didn't get his money sooner.
"It's not that he's not getting paid, it's that he's new to the business," Leslie Pollard, Shmurda's mother and manager, told Billboard. "There's a chain of command that he has to go through before he gets his payment. I guess he's thinking all the money should go from the front man to his hands -- it doesn't work like that. Of course they hold onto it so he actually does the show. Then it goes to his business manager, then to the touring accountant, and then to him."
Here's one of the Instagram captions that started the whole "controversy" (via Complex):
Nah idgaf I'm doing all theses show not getting ma money dey got me doing s--- every f---ing day so its hard to keep up Witt dis s--- den I ain't got nobody to trust ain't no help in dis bitch I'm ready to go back to da trap be4 jail #RNS dats how I feel foh.
Shmurda was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon over the weekend, and used the opportunity to promote his new single "Bobby B*tch," which he dropped right after the show's conclusion.
Check out the new banger here. The cut features a simple beat with a menacing flow. Here's a sampling of the lyrics:
And I'm shootin' n---as left to right
If they ain't steppin' right
My lil n---a keep that weapon tight
He'll leave you dead on sight
Look lil n---a, we the flexin' type
You feel like flexin' aight
Put a bullet in ya head tonight
We leave you dead tonight
Shmurda was also recently featured on Game's new single "Hit 'Em Hard," which features a hook from Bobby, along with guest verses from Freddie Gibbs and Skeme.
