Iggy Azalea, MO "Beg for It" Review: Lead 'Reclassified' Single Misses Standout Rhymes from "Fancy" Rapper [LISTEN]

Iggy Azalea has dropped her next single from her upcoming reissue Reclassified, but she's going to make you "Beg For It." Today (Oct. 24) Azalea released her new song, a collaboration with Danish singer-songwriter and pulls some pretty obvious musical callback to her breakthrough hit "Fancy."

The most remarkable thing about "Beg For It" is just how clear it is that the song's hook/chorus was penned by Azalea's frequent collaborator Charli XCX. MØ's sassy hook follows a very similar vocal pattern to "Fancy," and the lyrics share boastful themes.

"I know you like the way I turn it on / I'm out here with my friends / Imma make you beg, make you beg for it," MØ sings with mass amounts of swagger.

For her part (which, obviously, is the majority of the track) Azalea moves against the beat, working with mass amounts of confidence both lyrically and in her line delivery.

"Rolled up looking picture perfect baby / High price, but I'm worth it baby / Can't play with ya, I been busy working baby," she raps upon the song's beginning, and despite her impressive rapping prowess, the lyrics and the song's rhymes leave quite a bit to be desired. Rhyming "baby" with "baby" three times in a row? It may be repetition, but it doesn't work as well as I should.

And, like most of Azalea's collaborations, the rapper herself gets lost in the mix thanks to that infectious, hooky chorus. MØ is the true standout on "Beg For It," and it's likely this song will help her to break through in the U.S.
