The Hollywood Reporter says the event — which higlights the best in film, music and video games — will take place November 4 at the Fonda Theater.
The report also deftly breaks down his accomplishments: Campbell has received a slew of accolades over his career: five Grammys, three Grammy Hall of Fame honors, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, two Country Music Association Awards, three Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and a Pioneer Award honor. In 2005, he was induced into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has released more than 70 albums and sold more than 45 million records.
Earlier this month, Campbell offered up the final song of his career, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You."
"I'm still here, but yet I'm gone," Campbell, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011, sings. "I don't play guitar or sing my songs/They never defined who I am/The man that loves you 'til the end." The video for the song holds many photos and clips from Campbell's career.
As our own Shawn Christ previously reported: Campbell released his 63rd studio album See You There last year. "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" was included on a special EP for the documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, out this week (October 24). The doc revolves around Campbell's final tour in addition to his fight with Alzheimer's.
In April, news that the singer had been moved to an Alzheimer's nursing home because of his worsening condition. "Sadly, Glen's condition has progressed enough that we were no longer able to keep him at home," the Campbell family said in a statement to Rolling Stone. "He is getting fantastic care and we get to see him every day. Our family wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers, love and support."
