Miley Cyrus Reveals Story Behind Britney Spears Collaboration on 'SMS (Bangerz)'

It was only time before Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears would work together. Who could pass up hearing two of biggest pop stars of the past decade on the same track?

Cyrus explained the details of the "SMS (Bangerz)" collaboration on the UK talk show, "Alan Carr's Chatty Man" last night.

According to CapitalFM, it all began when Spears saw the "We Can't Stop" music video and called Cyrus to tell her how much she loved it. Cyrus explained that she and Spears connect on many levels — they have both grown up in the pop limelight and have been controversial ex-Disney stars.

"I think it kind of reminded her of what she did when she was 20 and the feeling of kind of wanting to free yourself and represent so many girls, and so it was cool to be able to get her on the song," Cyrus told them. "I don't think there's any pop idol that I care about more than I care about Britney because that was the first CD I ever bought."

"SMS (Bangerz)" won't be a slow, emotional ballad like "Wrecking Ball."

"It's a fast one, it's got to be! It's Britney, bitch!" she told them. "She's got one of those voices that as soon as it comes on, everyone in the world knows it's Britney Spears, and that's what I wanted."

Spears seems to be excited for their track as well, she tweeted about the collaboration saying, "Now It's Britney AND Miley bitch! #TheyreNotReady for this" @MileyCyrus... ;) #SMSbangerz."

The 13-track "BANGERZ" is scheduled for an Oct. 8 release. Spears is also currently working on her own upcoming album. Her first single "Work Bitch" will debut on Monday.
