Paul McCartney Reveals Tracklist for Upcoming Album, "New"

Paul McCartney shared the tracklist for his upcoming LP, "New," earlier today. The first all-original effort since 2007's "Memory Almost Full," the album features 12 tracks, including the title track, "New," which was released as a single last month.

McCartney enlisted four producers for the album, which was recorded at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Avatar Studios in New York, Abbey Road Studios in London, Air Studios in London, Wolf Tone Studios in London and Hog Hill Mill in East Sussex.

"The original idea was to go to a couple of producers whose work I loved, to see who I got on with best," he said in a press release. "But it turned out I got on with all of them! We made something really different with each producer, so I couldn't choose and ended up working with all four. We just had a good time in different ways."

Paul mentions in the release that the album is different from a lot of his previous works.

"It's funny, when I play people the album they're surprised it's me," he said. "A lot of the tracks are quite varied and not necessarily in a style you'd recognise as mine. I didn't want it to all sound the same. ...It's always great to get a chance to get into the studio with a bunch of new songs and I was lucky to work with some very cool producers. We had a lot of fun."

The album is scheduled for a U.S. release Oct. 15. The record runs a little over 46 minutes. It is currently available for preorder on iTunes and Amazon.
