Cam'ron Ebola Masks: 'Touch the Sky' Rapper Claims He's Already Sold Five Thousand

We'll admit: We were skeptical of "Touch the Sky" rapper Cam'ron and his "Ebola-preventing" masks when he announced them a couple weeks ago. But according to him, sales are already through the roof. "Them shit's good," he told TMZ, via HipHopDX. "I already sold 5,000, man."

They're scheduled to ship Nov. 7, but do they actually work?

"Listen, I don't know," he said. "I ain't really an expert on Ebola but s--t, you buy some s--t at Walgreen's that's the flu mask. You know what I'm saying?"

The 38-year-old rapper is capitalizing on the recent outbreak with some "fashionable" facewear that will feature his classic "pink" photo from nearly a decade ago.

But there still appears to be two obvious issues with this:

  • Ebola is not airborne. It is spread through contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person. Therefore, masks are not believed to be much help.
  • Are we really going to be gung-ho about by purchasing Ebola prevention products made by "Killa Cam?" That seems counterintuitive.

Last we heard from Killa, he was claiming he could beat 49-year-old former light heavyweight world champion Bernard Hopkins in a boxing match.

"I'm not even joking. I'm 100 percent serious," he said. "I respect the s--t out of Bernard Hopkins. I think he's one of the best. But at 49 years old, you're basically fighting for money. And you're not gonna get a bigger payday than fighting me."

From our own Ryan Book:

"Hopkins did respond to the song via Twitter, saying that he'll accept the fight, because he knows Cam'Ron is right about at least one thing: big money. And if he gets a sizable paycheck to fight someone with no professional boxing experience to get that paycheck? Free money."
