The Australian's version of The Grammy's just got some more star power with the addition of star-quintet One Direction. Taking place on Nov. 26, the ARIA Awards will feature artists like the aforementioned One Direction, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Chet Faker, Hilltop Hoods and others.
It will be a busy awards week for 1D as they will be joining the stacked lineup that includes Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, 5 Seconds Of Summer and Charli XCX for the AMAs on Nov. 23. Just three days later they will have to be down at the Event Centre at The Star for Australia's premiere music award show, the ARIA Awards (via Skynews Australia).
The anticipation is mounting for their upcoming artist album, Four, the number of albums they will have released thus far. Set for release on Nov. 17, this run of award shows lines up perfectly with the holiday shopping season rolls and as primetime promo for the album in two huge music markets. The 16-track album has writing credits and features from the likes of Ed Sheeran, John Legend and Emile Sandé. If the Beyoncé album rumors are true, it will be one of the biggest weeks for pop fans in recent memory.
They spent the summer selling out arenas across the globe and look to do so again next year in support of the upcoming album. They have announced the beginning of a world tour in Australia and Asia, before coming back the US with arena shows in hotspots like New York, Chicago and San Franciso. 1D will be performing down under in February, hitting the major arenas in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. So for those many One Direction fans who are unable to score tickets to the ARIA, make you head to their website to for more info on their Asia and Australia tour dates.
