"The Voice UK" named its final judge on Thursday: Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson. The decision rounds out the panel for the new season of the show, but it got us wondering: Which cast is better? "The Voice" or "The Voice UK"? We paired off the respective judges as equally as we could figure, now it's up to you to do the rest! Vote below and we'll name our ultimate "Voice" team in a week!
1. Adam Levine versus Will.i.am
Both are, respectively the biggest stars on their respective shows, at least from a sales perspective. Maroon 5's Levine might get the nod for having a much sweeter voice than Will.i.am, but the Black Eyed Peas honcho scores points for handling his group's production as well, even if he does lapse into autotune on occasion.
2. Blake Shelton versus Ricky Wilson
These are the two least similar candidates, but the other pairings forced our hand. They also represent the opposite side of the experience spectrum: Wilson is entering his first season, whereas Shelton has been the most successful of the American judges, winning the last three seasons of "The Voice." That's not to count Wilson short; American readers might recognize him from his band the Kaiser Chiefs and its hit "Ruby."
3. Christina Aguilera versus Kylie Minogue
Aguilera and Minogue may both be female pop stars, but they come from opposite ends of the vocal spectrum. The former, as American listeners know, channels soul with her throaty melisma, whereas Minogue has a softer, breathier tone. Regardless, they both made it work for them. This one's a toss-up to personal taste.
4. Cee Lo Green versus Tom Jones
This is what we believe to be the toughest of match-ups. Both men are icons of soul music (if of different generations). Both men can't help but add a hint of sexy to every song they touch (is "What's New Pussycat?" supposed to be sexy? We're not sure). Both men have been knighted...or at least Jones has. Cee Lo makes up by being in Gnarls Barkley however!
Stay tuned for results next week!
