This past weekend, at Odd Future Carnival at The Park @ LA Coliseum, which featured the Odd Future crew, Rick Ross, and Schoolboy Q, among others, Pharrell set the Internet on fire when he reunited N.E.R.D. onstage for a special performance to close out the festival. Almost lost in the shuffle of all that was a new song Pharrell played for the crowd off his phone. He unveiled his new collaboration track with fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani titled "Spark the Fire."
Taking out his phone, he decided to plug it into the speakers and play it from there.
"I just wanna see y'all faces when it come on," Pharrell said to the crowd. "It's called 'Spark the Fire' — it's about feminism."
As reported by Vibe, "Spark the Fire" is rumored to be her next release.
Though the quality is not incredible, as to be expected with a live video right next to the speakers, you get a good sense of what is going on in the track, from the vocals to Pharrell's top-notch production.
Both artists have been quite busy lately. Pharrell is one of the most in-demand producers in the world and Stefani is on the comeback trail with a new solo album and a No Doubt record in the works. She has been all in on fashion over the past year and tied up with The Voice over the past few months, but now she is gearing up to release a new solo album with Pharrell. We saw she still is at the top of her game in her feature on Calvin Harris's latest artist album Motion.
Pharrell continues to work with the biggest pop stars in the world, including Stefani and the queen of pop herself Madonna. There has not been word on when "Spark the Fire" or her album will be released.
