Jimi Hendrix Demo Bootleg 'Hear My Music' Getting Record Store Day Back to Black Friday Release; Features Guitarist at Piano as Well

The honchos at Record Store Day keep adding juicy titles to the list of those available as Black Friday—the home to Record Store Day's secondary annual event—approaches. The newest addition to the list of exclusives is Listen to My Music, an "official bootleg" containing instrumental recordings from Jimi Hendrix, according to Rolling Stone.

The two-LP set is composed of music that Hendrix composed both by himself and as jams with members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Janie Hendrix, the legendary guitarist's sister, put the album together with help from Hendrix expert/enthusiast John McDermott and legendary engineer Eddie Kramer. The collection is one of the few released by Experience Hendrix LLC's "bootleg" label, Dagger Records, an imprint that typically issues releases via online order only (hardcore Hendrix fans may already have this collection from its original release on the site during 2004).

If you like the sound of your 180-gram LPs, you'll love the quality on this 200-gram release.

Among the highlights on the set are the two versions of "Valleys of Neptune," one of which is Hendrix playing by himself on the guitar while the other features him on piano instead.
