Jimmy Henchman is currently serving a life sentence for drug trafficking and weapons possession, but there's one unreleated crime he wants his name cleared from: the New York City shooting of late rapper Tupac Shakur, who survived but later died in a Las Vegas shooting.
XXL broke down the NYC incident thusly:
On Nov. 30, 1998 [sic] Tupac Shakur got a call from Henchman Productions for an opportunity to make $7,000 to make a record with Uptown Records artist Little Shawn. Tupac agreed to do the track and meet with a representative from Henchman Productions and Little Shawn at New York City's Quad Recording Studios later that evening. Unfortunately, when Tupac got to the lobby of the studio he was met with bullets. The iconic rapper was ambushed by three three men who shot him five times and robbed him for $40,000 worth of jewelry.
Jimmy recently spoke with Don Diva to clear the air.
"Not sure why Tupac reacted the way he did," JH said. "He came off the elevator blaming me, Andre Harrell and Puffy. He was very conscious and running back and forth in the studio before he told the engineer to call his mom and the police - Tupac joked about it saying, 'you know how this rap stuff is'."
Despite many claims that Henchman copped to the incident, he denies it now.
"I never admitted anything at all," he said. "It's obvious that Chuck Phillips (former LA Times reporter) told Dexter Isaac (inmate who claims to have attacked Tupac) to the right press release accusing me 18 years after the fact. This would go along with the story he created. How can I confess to something I had absolutely nothing to do with?"
He also called out 50 Cent for backing out of Henchman's recent murder trial, in which a hung jury couldn't bring justice to the late Lodi Mack.
"One thing for sure is that Curtis [rapper, 50 Cent] was scheduled to testify at my murder trial, but reneged on the prosecutors at the last minute. Clowns do clown things. Why didn't he pull any of his shenanigans when I was on the street? It's easy to hide behind computers, Instagram and Twitter, and make threats and jokes."
Naturally, 50 resorted to Instagram today in response.
