Woody Harrelson hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend and decided to give a national TV audience a 1989 education.
Upset that Taylor Swift does not know anything about '89 — she named her newest album after her birth year — Harrelson attempted to provide some context but soon realized he had participated in too many ... er ... recreational activities to remember things clearly.
"It was 25 years almost to the day since the first time I hosted Saturday Night Live in 1989," Harrelson said. "But with all due respect to Ms. Swift, I think I know a little bit more about 1989 than she does — even if the memories are a little fuzzy, because of the drugs."
After someone handed him an acoustic guitar, Harrelson began a choppy parody of "Blank Space." Soon, he was joined onstage by fellow Hunger Games stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence.
"I can't believe it, the real Taylor Swift right here!" Harrelson said after supplying a weird leg hug/kiss.
Lawrence cut through the laughter.
"Woody, I'm not Taylor Swift, I'm Jennifer," she said. "We've done at 10 Hunger Games movies together."
The three young Games actors then provided background vocals for a new, "vague" rendition of "Blank Space." Check out the performance below:
Harrelson has been serving as Haymitch Abernathy in the Hunger Games series, which will produce its third film Nov. 21.
Here is the synopsis, via the Internet Movie Database: "In District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever, Katniss Everdeen works to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends.
