Pop music fans and electronic music fans will both get the chance to experience the opportunity of a lifetime thanks to Lady Gaga on October 24. The pop songstress will be showing off her new album Artpop at its release party, and its release party will be at Berghain, one of the most renowned (and notorious) techno clubs in the world.
AMPYA, a German music-streaming service, is hosting a competition that will give away 50 pairs of tickets to the exclusive show, and 10 of those winners will also get access to an even-more-VIP experience that includes meeting the mother monster. Considering that Gaga might invite some of her famous friends to fill the space, winners could rub elbows with several big names.
The experience will also be once-in-a-lifetime from a club-going experience. Berghain is notoriously difficult to get into, not because of exclusivity, but because management maintains a diverse attendance list...racially, sexually, and gender-related. The tough entry standards apply just as equally to celebrities (Paris Hilton was once famously denied access). Gaga and Berghain are both highly involved in the gay rights movement, so that might have helped her chances in booking the locale. Plus she'll be hosting her party on Thursday, when the club is normally closed.
Some bad news however: You probably won't win. Entry requires an applicant to submit a question for Lady Gaga for judges to decide from, and it's got to be in German. So if you don't know German, don't count on it. And don't expect any audio or photos to come from the party either; photography is strictly forbidden at Berghain thanks to rooms that permit, perhaps even encourage, lewd behavior.
