Tony Bennett will provide his voice for the children's show Wallykazam! because his grandchildren wanted him to.
From Billboard: "Bennett will play the singing voice of a goblin named Bobgoblin during and episode of the program that airs Dec. 5. Wallykazam! is about a young troll named Wally and his pet dragon, Norville."
"My granddaughters are very big fans of the show so they were excited to hear that I was going to do this," Bennett told the New York Post. "I am not a fan of demographics so I started out with the premise of performing for the whole family and still feel that way, so it's always a pleasure."
Bennett has been spending most of his time playing international shows with Lady Gaga, who has been head over heels for the "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" singer.
"I knew he was coming in [to Tel Aviv] for a show, but he came a day early and he said: 'Hey, you wanna sing 'Anything But Love' at the ArtRave?'" Gaga said earlier this fall. "And I thought: 'Gosh, how magnificent! To bridge the jazz and the pop world at the same time.' And at that show there were 25,000 people singing every word."
As previously reported, the "Poker Face" singer has gone through a lot in the past couple years, but working with Bennett on their duet album, Cheek to Cheek, helped her shift perspective to a more positive light.
"Gosh, it's taught me so much," she said. "And more than teaching me, it's made me myself again. I got really lost for a little while. I felt like I didn't even know who I was any more. And with Tony I found that boxer, that fighter within me who was ready to take on the world."
Gaga and Bennett will be performing their first United States concert together on Dec. 31 in Las Vegas at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Tickets for the New Year's Eve show will go on sale Friday, Oct. 10. Prices start at $125.
