Albert Hammond Jr., the guitarist for the Strokes, has announced a North American tour in support of his upcoming quasi self-titled solo EP, AHJ, which is due out Oct. 8 via Cult Records. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Hammond Jr. said that he has been more creative post-rehab and wants to show the world his best material on the five-song EP.
"It feels like the universe has just lined up for me to really take responsibility: 'If want to do this thing, do it," he told them. "Stop trying to hide behind things. Just do it and take the good and the bad straight up.' I'm excited about that. I'm ready."
Hammond Jr. is also currently streaming the album free on SoundCloud (via Rolling Stone). You can check him out live tonight on Late Show with David Letterman performing "St. Justice."
