'RHOBH's' Scores Highest Ratings for Premiere in Years Thanks To the Addition of Soap Stars' Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson

It looks like Bravo and Andy Cohen got their wish. Season five of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered last week and the numbers look really good. Two million households tuned in to catch up with the ladies, a 25 percent ratings increase over last season. While series regulars Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi Glanville, Yolanda Foster, Kyle Richards and Kim Richards all returned, it was likely newcomers Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson that helped to give those numbers a boost.

Soap opera veterans Rinna and Davidson have joined the cast, no doubt bringing with them a legion of daytime fans. Davidson won't actually be seen on camera until the third episode but that hasn't stopped fans of the franchise from talking about her involvement in the show. Rinna and Davidson both starred on Days of our Lives together many years ago and then Davidson has also appeared on The Young & the Restless on and off for a few decades. That means a lot of new viewers could be headed Bravo's way and that was precisely the plan.

Last season, RHOBH added a few women that simply didn't click with fans at all and the result was basically a sleeper season. Already it looks like the current season is going to do a whole lot better for the network. Are you a fan of either Rinna or Davidson's work in daytime television? If so, is seeing them in a reality setting something that will make you want to tune in on Tuesday night's? Do you think that they'll really be themselves on camera or will some of those fights between these two be exaggerated just to get some extra attention? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
