Take It Back! is taking back original lead singer Zack McKim and joining Third String Records for their fourth studio effort. The new and still-to-be named album will come out sometime in 2015.
"We've had two vocalists since Zack left, but only felt right coming back with the original," guitarist Cody Bradley told AltPress. "The lineup now cosists of Zack McKim (vocals), Josh Huskey (drums), Daniel Hawkins (guitar), Devin Henderson (bass), and myself. We couldn't be more excited about playing again. I can't wait to put out the new stuff!"
The group mixes hardcore punk with Christian lyrics, a paradox that was not lost on McKim when the band began gaining traction in 2008 after their debut, Can't Fight Robots.
"There has been some opposition from some of the bands and people we've played with or for, we've gotten some pretty hateful messages about how un-punk rock it is to be a Christian and crap like that, but it comes with the territory," he told Pure Grain Audio. "We just try not to judge and pray for grace and wisdom in those situations, God is faithful. As far as the Christian community goes, they've been very supportive of our ministry oddly enough. We've had the occasional holy roller that will tell us we're being used by the devil or something like that, but most Christians seem to get it even if they don't like the music."
TIB! tends to play pretty brutal shows that leave their mark in more than one way.
"I've left the stage with dislocated ribs, those are the fun shows," McKim said. "Our home venue in Fayetteville is called The Music Hall, it's always sweet when we play there... kids hanging from the ceiling fans and head walking, it's not unusual to have 30 or 40 kids on the stage by the end of the set. I normally wake up the next day with all kinds of aches and pains. I love it."
