Kanye West used to call himself the "Louis Vuitton Don," but A$AP Rocky is the true king of hip-hop style. He recently did a video interview with fashion line Ferragamo, in which talked about his first official show.
"They wanted me to come by and do three songs," he said in the clip (via Radio.com). "And when I say it was a line around the corner, people couldn't even get in and I just kept thinking to myself — wait, all of these people are here for me? This can't be real. It's my first time, it's my first show.
"It turned out crazy. People were dressed how they saw me dressed in the videos. And when I got in the car on the way home — and I cried because I was happy. That's when I felt that I made it."
Last month, Rocky was engaged in a trivial beef with clothing line Hood by Air thanks to the following lyrics: "HBA s--- is weak/You can keep that."
He followed up those comments by telling NY Mag he's pretty much pissed at everybody when it comes to fashion.
"I'm going to put it to you like this: I can say that I've been scrutinized for my fashion since I was about 15 years old," he said. "A lot of people got it easy. I feel like I had to go through the whole Civil Rights Movement just to be comfortable, to make other people comfortable, to be able to wear what they want to wear, and a lot of dudes are just claiming to have it without having to have that sacrifice or suffering through all that kind of s--t. We've been through that kind of s--t. That's all I can really say about it. It is really miniscule. It's no real beef."
