DMX and Swiss Beatz Confirmed to be Teaming Up Again For Rapper's Next LP

DMX hasn't had a great 2013. Although the rapper has a long rap sheet of arrests, he's had various auto mishaps this year, including DUI and driving in possession of four packages of marijuana. Plus, footage emerged of a nude X running around a hotel. He wasn't charged with anything, but it still led many to question his mental shape. Producer Swiss Beatz wants to get DMX back to the place he was at the end of the decade however.

"I have a lot of big plans with X that I plan on putting in motion as a brother, as a responsibility, as fans," Swiss said. "I'm mapping that out now and the world will soon know about that...DMX is one-of-one. I just hate to see what I've been seeing because I remember when people couldn't follow up with him on stage, big name people...People still don't understand X. My job is to get people to understand X for real. With reality shows, that stuff is edited. It's real stuff but I just think people need to see another side of X."

Beatz has been involved with the rapper throughout his career, including his first four albums that all debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. He produced nine tracks on DMX's Blood of My Blood, Flesh of My Flesh, Music Times' favorite DMX album (and also the most terrifying album cover of all time. Your move, grindcore).

DMX went six years between 2006's Year of The Dog...Again and 2012's Undisputed, and the album sales told the story as such. Hopefully some heavy help from Swiss Beatz on a new LP will help reassure fans that DMX doesn't have any screws loose (at least any more than he used to), and maybe boost his sales relevance as well.
