The Promise Adds a Fourth Member

Just last month, The Promise added Mandy Wing Foster to their roster to replace Tina McKinney Booth, who left the trio to start a new business. They have now added a fourth member to the lineup for select dates. Kenny Parsons, from Indian Trail, North Carolina, spent several years as a soloist in the Celebration Choir at First Baptist Church Indian Trail. The husband and father of seven took a break from Gospel music for a few years but after re-committing his life to Jesus a few months ago, he knew where he was supposed to be. He called his long-time friend, Rick Blessing from The Promise and started sitting in with the group during rehearsals. They all felt the presence of the Holy Spirit so strongly that they knew they had to share it with others. Kenny was invited to join the trio at their next concert and for several after that.

Kenny's father, an ordained minister and one of the best Bluegrass banjo players around was praying mightily for his son to return to Gospel Music. When he heard that news that Kenny was joining The Promise, he said, "I have prayed for so long that God would stir Kenny's heart to use his anointed voice and talents for God's glory and I am more convinced than ever of God's faithfulness! Kenny has been through a lot but the God we serve is greater than all of our storms."
