The Pretty Reckless Debut Video For 'Going To Hell,' The Title Track Off Upcoming Sophomore Album

Taylor Momsen-fronted band The Pretty Reckless have debuted the music video for the title track and first single off their upcoming album, Going to Hell.

The metal song features Momsen, who was made famous by her role as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, wearing a tight black leather jumpsuit and confessing all of the sins which will eventually land her in hell.

She sings: "For the lives that I take / I'm going to hell / For the laws that I break / I'm going to hell / For the love that I hate / I'm going to hell / For the lies that I make / I'm going to hell."

The video is full of biblical references such as The Last Supper and the snake and apple of the Garden of Eden, and includes Momsen seducing a priest and having orgies with demons. It also features some product placement for blu e-cigarettes; so at least if she is going to hell, it won't be for having caused people to breathe in second hand smoke.

Momsen talked to Fuse about the video. "I worked closely with our director, Tim Mattia," she told them "It's based around the seven deadly sins and these kind of crazy vignettes and exaggerated versions of these sins, done artistically. Whether they'll look like sins to you or not, who knows, but there's definitely some interesting footage that I would check out."

She also mentions in the interview that religion is a major theme in the band's writing.

"I grew up Catholic so its very imbedded in my vernacular," she told the. "'Going Down' [from the first album] was the first, younger confession, and this is the more grand confession of coming back and going, 'Now I've done all of these things, I've toured the world, and I've seen all these sins and horrible things going around, and I have to tell you about it.' ...It's dark. It's rock. It's heavy. It's very based on aggression and performance."

According to Rolling Stone, the album got off to a rough start when Hurricane Sandy destroyed their recording studio, Water Music Studios, last year - wiping out the majority of their gear, some demos, and some almost-finished tracks.

Momsen reportedly wrote "Going to Hell" during the time the band was rebuilding after the disaster.

Going To Hell is set for release in early 2014 via Razor & Tie Recordings. It is the follow up to 2010's Light Me Up, which Momsen and company recorded during the filming of Gossip Girl.

"Rock & Roll needs to make a resurgence" Momsen told Rolling Stone. "It needs to come back in a big way and take over again."
