Oklahoma City native Sandi Patty was just inducted earlier this week into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2013. Known all over the world as "the Voice," Sandi is one of most popular and awarded performers in contemporary Christian music history. She has earned three platinum albums, five gold records, 40 Dove Awards and five Grammys during her 35 year career. Sadly, an illness kept her from attending the induction ceremony.
Patty joins greats like Carrie Underwood, The All-American Rejects, Toby Keith, Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Gene Autry, Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard and Patti Page as an inductee.
Since 1997, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame has been "honoring the world’s most notable talents whose gifts and musical styles are as breathtaking and diverse as the Oklahoma landscape."
In December, you can see Sandi as she hosts the annual Duke Energy Yuletide Celebration in Indianapolis. If a more exotic locale is more to your liking, you can join her between Febuary 23 to March 2, 2014 on Inspiration Cruises & Tours to journey to the Western Caribbean on Holland America's MS Nieuw Amsterdam.
