Dr. Dre's $40 million estate includes just about everything a man could want, but there apparently isn't enough creative space for Doc to get his #BeatGame on. So, Dre recently decided to add a 10,000-square-foot home studio underneath his Los Angeles-area mansion (it's not like he doesn't have the money).
While he'll probably spend a ton of time in his new basement, the LA Times made it clear there's plenty of attractions on the main floor.
"The limestone-clad home features reclaimed ceiling beams, salvaged tile and antique doors," the report read. "There's a center hall, a den, a library/study, a gym, a sauna, seven fireplaces, five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, loggias, covered terraces, balconies and garage space.
"The grounds, irrigated by a gray-water system, include expanses of lawn, gardens, waterfalls, ponds and an infinity pool."
It's hard to imagine Dre finally dropping a new album while surrounded by that kind of luxury. But Hittman recently said it's still on the Doc's agenda.
"I've been around, just lurking in the shadows," Hitt said. "What I can honestly say though is that I know he wants to do his last album for sure. "
Although, on second thought, maybe it'd be better for Aftermath rappers if Dre didn't try and complete his third LP.
"Those who were fortunate to be around when Dre wasn't 100% focused on his own album were the ones able to launch their careers," Hittman said. "But those who were positioned to springboard off of a Dre album (like 2001) got lost in the shuffle. If he's focused (on his album), all your energy is focused on helping him see his vision. Once he doesn't have enthusiasm about what you're doing, it wanes."
