Chance the Rapper has *accidently* released a new song with his group The Social Experiment called "Ish Illa (Cold Stares)" for his upcoming album Surf, due out by the end of 2014. According to Reddit, Chano is asking for anyone who has ripped the three-minute track to take it down. Unfortunately once something is on the Internet, it's hard to make it disappear, but apparently this song was only meant to be shared with his group.
"I don't have any labels, publishers or big legal team to help me handle these situations so i have to ask you as my own teammate to help," he requested (via Reddit).
For those dying to get a taste of Surf, Chance previously the songs "Sunday Candy" and "No Better Blues," which are expected to be featured on the upcoming release.
Chance spoke to Billboard about the upcoming release saying, "It's the first Social Experiment project. It's a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico [Donnie Trumpet] hold the reigns and carry it. There's a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers. I'm already saying too much."
Chance was recently presented with his hometown of Chicago's "Outstanding Youth of the Year Award" by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, which he called "the most important award I will ever win."
He also recently released a short documentary called Sox Day. The 11-mintue project was directed by Austin Vesely and shows what life on the road is like for Chance and The Social Experiment (Donnia Trumpet, Peter Cottontale, Stix, Nate Fox and Macie Stewart).
With less than 19 days until the end of 2014, Surf could be dropping any time now. Maybe that's why he wanted to keep this song under wraps? Or maybe he released it and took it down as a promotional tactic? Time will tell.
