Charlamagne Apologizes For Sharing Floyd Mayweather’s Bad Reading Audio During 50 Cent Beef After Being Called Out By Angie Martinez [WATCH]

This summer, 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather exchanged insults in a hilarious feud and social media went haywire once the G-Unit rapper put the boxing champ on blast for his poor literacy skills. Somehow Hot 97's Breakfast Club host Charlamagne was thrown into the mix and added insult to injury when he played Mayweather's bad reading audio on air. Angie Martinez recently called him out for his actions and Charlamagne apologized.

Angie Martinez returned to her old stomping grounds to promote her new book, Healthy Latin Eating. During the interview, Martinez was informed that Charlamagne never thought she liked him and she took the opportunity to address the issue while prompting an apology.

"I think most of the time with Charlamagne, he's just being honest. Whether you like it or not, that's being honest. And that's okay," she said. "But with that Mayweather thing, I thought that was just a little below the belt ... I just felt like that wasn't about you being honest. I felt there was an opportunity — and maybe you thought it was funny — but you took something that was private, you asked the man to do something for you, and then you make fun of him. It wasn't about being honest."

Back in August, Charlamagne shared a clip of Mayweather attempting to read a radio drop. Apparently, Mayweather has gifted the radio host with a bunch of merchandise in the past. When a colleague questioned his motives, Charlamagne insisted he was just doing his job.

"I got nothing but respect for Floyd Mayweather," he said. "He's the greatest defensive fighter of all time. But I got a show to do. I gotta sell tickets, too, baby. Okay? Just like he likes to put on a show, I like to put on a show, too. This is for our listeners' benefit. Alright?"

Initially, Charlamagne was reluctant to say he was sorry. He offered an apology "to all the people who can't really read" but his co-hosts Angela Yee and DJ Envy were able to squeeze the real deal out of him.

"I apologize champ," he finally said.
