Earlier this year Drake hopped on OB OBrien's remix of Tinashe's "2 On," and now he's has teamed up for the second time with the OVO signee and bearded funnyman on the new track "Schemin' Up" along with fellow Toronto native P. Reign. The track features the same beat as Drake's recently leaked collaboration with Rich Homie Quan, "Tell Me Why." The Boi-1da and Noah "40" Shebib-produced track also features the same verse from Drizzy along with a few new bars.
Drake takes on the hook singing, "I got two tings comin' through/ And they do whatever I want 'em to/ Yeah, we call that schemin' up/ We call that schemin' up, we call that schemin' up, for real."
On his previously unheard second verse, he talks about being at the top of his game.
"I'm half way through the race and I'm already celebrating," he raps. "I'm on that Y sh*t, I'm back on my sh*t/ I ran the game so long I should be wearing Dri-FIT."
Drake reportedly has a mixtape coming out in January, which would be his first mixtape since 2009's Grammy nominated So Far Gone. The Toronto rapper has been sporadically releasing new music since October, including the songs "6 God" and "Heat of the Moment" with a new album, Views From the 6, in the works.
Meanwhile, OB has his debut album on the way, according to HotNewHipHop, though no release date has been given on the project.
P. Reign's mixtape, Dear America, dropped back in September and featured appearances from Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, French Montana and A$AP Rocky.
The only hint we have as to when some of these OVO projects are dropping comes from Drake's verse on "0 to 100/The Catch Up," where he raps, "We already got spring 2015 poppin' / PND droppin', Reps-up P droppin' / Majid Jordan droppin', OB droppin', not to mention me droppin'." So we'll be on the lookout for new material come Spring 2015.
