Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears exhibited an awful brand of professional football in their 31-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Given that fact, and the fact that Chicago media are the most ruthless of the Midwest's press corps, Cutler was a likely candidate to be roasted by reporters following the game. But that never happened because he walked out!
Here's the full transcript (via video from Deadspin):
Mike Sando (ESPN): --unidentified question-
Cutler: I don't think so. Just have to look at the film and play better. We'll take a look tomorrow and see what exactly slowed us down.
Sando: Did the Saints pretty much do what they've done... (cut off)
Cutler: They had a pretty good plan. They had a good plan. They mixed it up pretty well against us. They showed us a few new things. They knew what they were doing.
Sando: What's kind of important to you now, moving forward?
Cutler: Just trying to get better for these next two games. Going out and trying to give a good performance offensively.
[Cutler surveys room]
Cutler: Okay. Jim?
[Cutler looks toward Bears Media Relations Manager Jim Christman]
Christman [to the room]: Does anybody have anymore questions?
Christman [to Cutler]: The media is on their way.
Cutler: We're going to wait for them?
Christman [to the room]: Do we have anything else?
Christman [to Cutler]: I'm good... [unintelligible blathering]
Cutler: Okay.
[Cutler leaves room]
Sando then took to Twitter to describe what happened:
Odd: Cutler arrived for postgame newser before local reporters did. I asked 3 questions, no others were asked, that was it. Can't fault Jay.

Later, the "local reporters" chimed in on social media:
Usually they make an announcement in the locker room when Jay Cutler heads to the podium. I didn't hear that announcement tonight. #Bears — Adam Hoge (@AdamHoge) December 16, 2014
They announced when Trestman went to the podium and said Cutler was already there. That's when many reporters went that way. Was too late.

To be clear about the Jay Cutler's press conference, Bears PR did not inform reporters in the locker room in time for us to get over to it. — Rich Campbell (@Rich_Campbell) December 16, 2014
#Bears PR didn't wait for the real reporters to arrive for Cutler press conference. #Bears failed in all phases. Embarrassing show.

Sounds like the Bears PR department either 1) screwed this whole thing up or 2) was protecting their star quarterback. But the whole thing added to the now-popular narrative that the organization is a steaming pile of grizzly scat.
