Baauer Releases Edit Of RL Grime & What So Not 'Tell Me' [REVIEW]

Baauer has released his live edit of RL Grime & What So Not's genre championing tune "Tell Me." Originally just designed to be a tune reserved for DJ sets, Baauer has decided to give the short edit out as a free download for a limited time. The edit is being played out by RL Grime and Baauer and got its first recognition when a YouTube video surfaced on the web of RL Grime playing the edit during his expansive Void tour.

Baauer keeps much of what has made the original such a huge hit this year, but works his own magic on the track. He changes the rhythm and speeding up the horns crafted by RL Grime and What So Not layered with an additional big booming, Fatman Scoop-like voice yelling "Attention" carrying the whole way throughout the drop.

RL Grime just released his new album Void and has started to release a series of companion videos for it. He is currently on tour in support of the album, which will take him all across the United States for the next three months.

Baauer has been deep in the midst of working on his own album. As documented by Red Bull, Baauer has been flying around the world sampling sounds from remote places and traditions to try to get as unique a sound on his album as possible.

There's only another 24 to 36 hours left on the free download, so make sure you can still get it while the remix is still hot. It is the holiday season, which puts artists in a giving spirit, so expect more free tracks coming your way before 2014 is over.

Stream and download the edit below.
