Watch Virgin America's Cheeky Safety Presentation Turned Music Video

In attempt to get passengers to actually pay attention during the FAA-mandated safety instruction presentation before flight, Virgin America has launched an airline safety video certain to get your nose out of SkyMall.

The video features a fully choreographed danced routine set to a pop-meets-R&B-meets-EDM-meets-hip-hop song complete with rapping children, a dancing nun and a slew of electronic devices. It almost looks like an episode of Glee.

According to CNN, The five-minute video features 36 dancers and former contestants of So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol as well as Former Olympian Tamara Campos (the nun). The video was directed by John M. Chu, who directed the dance-driven films Step Up 2, Step Up 3 and Justin Bieber's Never Say Never.

Luckily the brand has the flexibility to pull off this sort of irreverence and pokes fun at the idiocy of having to explain how seatbelts are fastened. "For the .001% of you who have never operated a seatbelt before" the flight attended sings as she shows instructs you on how it's done.

The article reports that the airline is offering 20 percent off flight purchases made using a promo code with the safety video hashtag. They are also hosting a talent competition on Instagram, and the winner will appear in an in-flight version of the video.

For some, this "upgraded" video will make flying seem more entertaining but for others this could get annoying pretty fast.
