South Park spoofs Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus' battle of open letters

And the Sinead O’Connor/Miley Cyrus feud continues. Luckily its not another open letter. The latest episode of South Park spoofed the never-ending quarrel with a segment that featured O’Connor as a guest on Yo Gabba Gabba. She urges the characters not to give away their “strange” to “those corporate bastards” and the engages in a sing-a-long during which she interjects that she’s “looking for a boyfriend.”

Incase you missed it, here’s an abbreviated timeline of the tiff:

Cyrus mentioned O’Connor in a Rolling Stone interview as the inspiration behind her “Wrecking Ball” video.
O’Connor responded by writing an open letter to Cyrus that warned her not to let the music industry “prostitute” her.
Cyrus sneered back with remarks that made light of O’Connor’s bipolar disorder
O’Connor penned another letter demanding an apology for the remarks.
Cyrus fired back saying she was busy working on SNL but could talk later.
O’Connor wasn’t having any of that, and said she didn’t want to meet Cyrus to talk and that she was getting lawyers involved with the whole debacle.
Cyrus was questioned about the feud on the Today Show and dismissed the back and forth as “crazy”
O’Conner then penned another open letter that again demanded an apology to all of the people suffering from mental illness.

All in all, the situation was blown way out of proportion. South Park took the opportunity to (hopefully) end it once and for all in a humorous way. We’ll see if this episode prompts another open letter from the Irish singer. Check out a clip of the scene here, and leave us your comments below.
